by John Schinella
In 1963, even before production commenced on the new Corvette Sting Ray, Bill Mitchell gathered a group of his designers and tasked them with dreaming up the Sting Rays replacement. In 1964 John Schinella was one of the designers working in Chevy Studio #2.
This sku is a concept drawing of a proposed 1967 Corvette. Like many of Schinellas drawings, this one includes people; here an interesting female appears to be leaning in toward the driver to talk. This Corvette proposal demonstrates an unusual fastback design with centered dual exhaust tips and a very low cockpit roofline.
